Friday night: I missed out on Tiara Happy Hour to be with friends I had not seen in a while (sorry girls, see you at the next time!). We had a good dinner at Chuy’s but unfortunately we were unable to find a good place to hang-out and talk. Instead, we ended up at a loud bar with no seating. After a drink, many of us left, which is a shame. It was nobody’s fault, we just didn’t plan well.

Saturday: Went to my dentist appointment and afterwards went to get my car’s radar detection system worked on. When I turned on the system it would emit a double beep constantly every four seconds. Kenny soon figured it was probably trying to tell me that something was broken. Sure enough, a call to the manufacturer confirmed this and a few calls later I was getting it fixed (the rear sensor “eye” had to be replaced). It cost some money but not too bad considering the original cost of the system.

Saturday night: We had an early dinner at Houston’s, went home with some rented movies and stayed on the couch the rest of the evening. We watched both Spartan with Val Kilmer and 50 First Dates with Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler. The first movie sucked – it was horribly acted in general but Kilmer’s lack of talent was exemplified. The second movie made up for it though because it was surprisingly good. The actors work well together and the comedy wasn’t slapstick, it was just classic Sandler and Barrymore. Unique storyline too.

Sunday: I woke up with a need to get things done around the house. I made a list and started in on it. Typically Kenny doesn’t get too involved but this day he did. He read the list and helped me cross off several of the tasks. Thanks hon!!! I was able to get laundry done (4 loads), get the fridge cleaned out (with Kenny’s help), the trash taken out and the large 30 gallon fish tank cleaned. I even tidied up my desk before I went to bed. Kenny did the dishes, cleaned and conditioned the leather recliner, tidied up the bar area by going through the piles of paper and mopped the lounge area for me (this is where the dogs have their accidents so it needs a bleach cleaning on occasion). Boy – he did more than I did but he was done before I was too.

Sunday night: Met up with friends for dinner and went to see Vin Diesel’s new film, The Chronicles of Riddick. We were all very surprised! It was really well done and for a sci-fi movie, it was good. Vin Diesel did a decent job (he didn’t say much) and the architectural renderings of the various cities were amazing.

It was a productive weekend, I think more so than usual so I felt like it wasn’t wasted sitting on the couch. It was a good balance of fun and work! And I drove Betty everywhere of course! Poor Kenny – I let him drive once and I was nervous. I’ll be driving my car from now on. He didn’t do anything wrong but I felt so out of control! Ack!
