Is the a/c still broken?

Our offices have had a/c failures since yesterday afternoon and I have had to sit in an icky, yucky warm office. Imagine my thrill this morning to open the door and hit that wall of warmth again. As you can understand, I am in a miserable mood and to go along with that mood, I am posting a poem I heard on NPR’s The Writer’s Almanac yesterday on my way to work so my beloved readers can share in my misery…

Afraid So

Is it starting to rain?
Did the check bounce?
Are we out of coffee?
Is this going to hurt?
Could you lose your job?
Did the glass break?
Was the baggage misrouted?
Will this go on my record?
Are you missing much money?
Was anyone injured?
Is the traffic heavy?
Do I have to remove my clothes?
Will it leave a scar?
Must you go?
Will this be in the papers?
Is my time up already?
Are we seeing the understudy?
Will it affect my eyesight?
Did all the books burn?
Are you still smoking?
Is the bone broken?
Will I have to put him to sleep?
Was the car totaled?
Am I responsible for these charges?
Are you contagious?
Will we have to wait long?
Is the runway icy?
Was the gun loaded?
Could this cause side effects?
Do you know who betrayed you?
Is the wound infected?
Are we lost?
Can it get any worse?

    Ugh! I’m sorry you don’t have AC at work. That makes for a really really long day. :(

    LOL! I like the “cool thoughts”!! We can’t CALL anymore for building issues like that…they have now given us these groovy online request system to use. Bleh! It was much easier to pick up the phone and say, “Hey…It’s hot up here!”

    For a change, it is nice and cool. Hope you cool down soon. I like the Afraid So compilation. So true…so true.
