Drunk Marines, lots of mulch, a kitchen sink…

Friday night: EJ’s buddy Stevie recently retired after 20 years in the Marines and he and his family are moving to Texas. He came in last week so we took him out Friday night. It was just him since his family is still in California while he looks for a house here so of course they were on a mission to drink. After dinner we headed to Onion Creek Cafe and had a good time hanging out. And if you want to see what 3 drunk ex-Marines do for fun, click here…
Saturday: Ran a few errands including buying 6 bags of mulch and 5 bags of gardening soil. The front & back need to be replenished for the spring and since the weather is warming up it is a good time to do it. I had to be back for a work-related call though so we headed home.
Saturday night: Stayed in and watched Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. I read the books (the whole series) years ago so I recognized the characters but it wasn’t that fresh in my mind. I know they didn’t stay completely true to the books and they combined the various books into one movie but I still enjoyed it. I also admit I fell asleep for about 30 minutes of it… I was tired though!
Sunday: Joined our friends for lunch and quickly ran to a few stores with them. Kenny and I have been wanting to replace our kitchen sink and we plan to do so with our tax refund money (yes, we already filed) so we were looking at our options. We found one we liked at Lowe’s so we went ahead and bought it along with a new faucet. It’s a nice Kohler stainless steel sink. Kenny is going to install it himself so it may be a few weeks before it gets done. I’ll take pictures when it is.
By the time we got home I was feeling icky – I had a huge headache that was affecting my neck and I felt horrible in general. I had to lay down. The day had been overcast and a bit rainy anyway so the garden will have to wait till next weekend.
It took me a while to feel better but I finally did by the end of the evening. I just wish I had had more energy to do stuff around the house but that is *always* the story with me! I am so predictable…

I was disappointed by the Hitchhiker movie. I’m a HUGE Douglas Adams fan, and I didn’t like the collapsing of storylines like you mentioned. But, I like Mos Def and the actor that played Arthur Dent, so it wasn’t all lost.

I wondered if you guys were going out on Friday. (EJ had mentioned it the night that we were at your house.) With Mike gone and my parents out of town, I ended up staying home with Jason since it was my only option. I missed you guys!

heh. we watched Hitchhiker’s on Saturday night too. we bought it when it came out and hadn’t watched it yet. the deleted scenes are pretty damn funny.
