I {heart} NPR

I used to listen to the local progressive radio station but switched to NPR a couple of years ago. At lunchtime when I am in my car I often switch to it because my NPR station plays classical during the day. I just always get a chuckle out of the progressive commentators and what comes out of their mouths. Is it me or am I just getting too cynical? The progressive station is way too left and seems to be upsetting me as much as the conservatove right-wing talk radio.

Today before lunch I heard a discussion on “elimination communication“ and after lunch heard some super-hokey folksy song with lyrics that said “little brown woman on a white plain” and somehow wove the words “such a drag” into the wailing, plaintive song. *sigh*

Don’t get me wrong – I get just as pissed at the conservative shows. I am an equal-opportunity radio show basher. LOL.

So I think I’ll just stick to my NPR. Intelligent, thought-out stories with intelligent commentators I can relate to.

That reminds me, I need to charge the iPod so I can catch up on podcasts. I like to have more control over what I listen to – or the ability to leave it when they are a bit too wonky.

Ironic, I could never listen to talk radio at all, but podcasts don’t bother me.
