Labor Day Weekend Re-Cap
September 7th 2006 by cybertoad in re-capsWow! I stayed in bed way too much over the holiday weekend and yet I am already behind on my sleep needs! But what’s new, right?
OK, here is my Labor Day weekend re-cap, including Thursday…
Thursday: A co-worker/friend of mine had tickets to the last Texans pre-season game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers so after work we headed down to Reliant Stadium. We got a little lost on some back roads to the park & ride but we eventually made it. Neither one of us had ever been to a Texans game and it was my first time in Reliant Stadium. Coincidentally, Kenny was invited to the very same game by his boss and it was also his first Texans game. We were in different sections but we headed down to his section in the 4th quarter.
It was entertaining and I am glad I went – I got some good shots too, despite not have a tripod. Check them out on Flickr (first 12 shots of set)…
Friday: Stayed home. I had had enough going out for one week (I had had somewhere to go every night of the work week).
Saturday: Slept in way too late and when we finally got up we were already tired once more. LOL. Met up with friends and headed into town for a great dinner out on the patio at Baba Yega. Got home early enough and watched one of our NetFlix movies.
Sunday: Again, slept too much. I did manage to clean up the kitchen a bit but didn’t do much else. Worked on some scrapbooking, worked on editing photos from the game Thursday night and ended up watching another NetFlix movie (reviews forthcoming).
Monday: Yay! No work! Tried to wake up at a more reasonable time. We did manage to be more productive. Kenny *finally* put away his huge piles of clean laundry and even managed to go get rid of some stuff in the process as he tried to make more room in the closet (he has about as much clothes as I do). While he did this I washed my two loads of laundry and started dusting the room (our bedroom is the dustiest room in the house). We then rewarded ourselves with a quick dinner at 100% Taquito and some bubble tea. After dinner we came home and continued our day-long viewing of the show Dirty Jobs. There must have been a marathon of this show because we were sucked in.
The long weekend was almost over but I found some lost energy and started tackling the pile of papers in my home office. Several months ago I tackled the piles and categorized the piles but never actually filed them away. Yesterday I finally did so and although I did not get done I made a good dent and it feels good. I can reasonably say I just need to spend one more evening to be able to clear my desk and get my filing up to date –can you believe I had not filed in over 1 year?!!
And that’s about it… Boring, isn’t it? A little too domestic for my taste but I have been making up for it with the stuff I’ve done this week…
