Saying good-bye, IKEA, Central Market…
Ugh. Why can’t I find the motivation to be productive on my weekends?? Wah. Here’s my re-cap…
Friday night: My dear friend Kathy is moving away to Dallas and this was her last weekend in town so I invited some friends over to the house to say good-bye. We scarfed down a party-size lasagna, had margaritas in honor of Cinco de Mayo and chatted the evening away. She will be sorely missed but I know we’ll see each other sooner rather than later! Good luck in Dallas Kathy & Tom!!!
Saturday: Once again, this was *supposed* to be the rain date for the neighborhood garage sale but it was pouring rain at 8 AM so it was postponed yet again. The third and final try will be this coming Saturday but that is the same day as the Art Car Parade so I am debating what to do. Is it work sitting there all day for a little bit of cash or should I just forget about it, donate the items, maybe selling a handful on eBay? Kenny says he could skip the Art Car Parade and sit at the garage sale for us. I don’t know… The only good thing is at least I didn’t have to sit there all by myself this past Saturday and I was able to sleep in.
Saturday afternoon: Kenny flew back in from Atlanta where he had been all week at a conference. I didn’t let him sit at home too long though. We got out and ran some errands – we dropped off our recycling, got a few things for the house at IKEA and spent too much money at Central Market (as always).
Since Kenny had been traveling, he wanted to stay in for the night so we did.
Sunday: Another lazy day. I wanted to clean up my office and go through files and I wanted to go through the closet and get rid of clothes but did I? Nope. I crashed on the couch with Kenny till the afternoon when we got up and had a late lunch/early dinner at Panera’s. Kenny then left to meet a friend for pool while I headed to Hermann Park.
The idea for me was to a) play with my new camera and b) take pictures for this group assignment at Flickr. Neither happened. First of all, even at 5 PM the park was crowded and I had trouble finding a parking spot. Secondly, because the park was crowded I just couldn’t find any good, inspirational shots (I don’t like to take pictures of people, I prefer nature and architectural shots). The sky was not overcast but it wasn’t blue either, the lighting wasn’t that great and I I was just in a bad mood so I headed home after a short walk around.
I hope to return to Hermann Park next weekend – maybe go to the Zoo since I can’t remember the last time I was there. Anyone want to join me?

thank you for dinner, Elaine! yes, we’ll definitely see each other sooner than later… thank god for blogs, the Internet, and cell phones. 🙂
I have a zoo membership! I’ll have to see what is going on this weekend. It seems like I’m supposed to do something on Saturday, but I can’t remember what! LOL!
I wish we could join you at the zoo, but due to very unfortunate circumstances we’ll be going to Lake Charles for a funeral tomorrow. 🙁
