Fresh Photos, beautiful weather, cleaning up the front yard…

What gorgeous weather this weekend – Spring is creeping in and it’s a welcome change from the overcast days. Weekend was full of Fresh Photography and gardening (or un-gardening as it were)…

Friday: I was exhausted when I got home so I plopped down on the couch and took a nap (sort of, I kept getting up to get the phone, to let the dogs out, etc). I finally got up later than I had wanted to and started to work on matting a few more prints for the show the next day and getting my bins ready to load in the car (we were smart and cut the foam board the night before).

Saturday: Spent the day at the Fresh Photography booth at Yale Street Arts Market. We did well, it was a beautiful day and our new tent, bamboo screen walls and wooden print rack looked wonderful! Sounds silly but its the little things. I think our booth is essentially complete as it is right now and I love the way it looks. Most photography booths have gone with a dark theme, using a lot of black but we have stayed “fresh” in our colors and look. I am really looking forward to the summer months when the festival switches to nighttime hours. Then we can break out our off-white paper lanterns and white lights.

Saturday night: Grabbed dinner at Frank’s with Mike & Christine after the show then crashed at home. Kenny had gone back home while I was at the booth and had worked all afternoon in the front yard pulling up ugly shrubs and trimming back the shrubs we like. * The front still needs work but it looks so much better! Needless to say he was tired too!

Sunday: We slept in of course then had lunch with my Mom. We also worked some more in the front yard (did some additional hedge trimming and pruning). * While Kenny was resting I attacked the ginger plant in the back and trimmed it back too so he can finally get to the electrical plug out there and fix it for me!

Today I am groggy for whatever reason and my body is subtly achy. And I am only halfway through the workday. Ugh.

* FYI: Extremely useful tools to have when pulling up shrubs and trimming them – these are both lifesavers & timesavers and are actually very affordable!
