I Heart Faces Photo Challenge: Beautiful Eyes
This is my entry for this week’s I Heart Faces Photo Challenge: Beautiful Eyes.
Foto Friday: The Varsity
Last month I had the opportunity to go to Atlanta for a business trip. This was my 1st visit to the the city and although I had no time to actually site-see (I was in a 2-day workshop), I met another great conference attendee who had driven there and offered to take me to the […]
Review: Merde Happens
Merde Happens by Stephen Clarke My rating: 4 of 5 stars This is the third in a series by Clarke featuring Paul West, a British ex-pat living in Paris. This time, Paul takes his adventures overseas to America. But don’t worry, he still continues to give his hilarious opinion on the French since his French […]
Foto Friday: Looking Out
OK, OK, one more from Caye Caulker, Belize – this is where I was last week!
Ho hum…
Hiya! {waves} Still here but haven’t had anything exciting to tell. Stayed home all weekend – barely ventured out in the backyard even – due to allergies (sinus headache, achiness, congestion). Rest of the week has just been work… about to change positions and anxious to get more details and make the transition. No details […]
Review: Listening Is an Act of Love: A Celebration of American Life from the StoryCorps Project
Listening Is an Act of Love: A Celebration of American Life from the StoryCorps Project by Dave Isay My rating: 5 of 5 stars Quick read! I devoured these stories in under a week! I am a huge NPR fan and 1st heard the StoryCorps narrations on the radio. The stories are always so timeless […]
Review: Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption
Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand My rating: 4 of 5 stars What an incredible story of endurance, survival, torture and heroism. Such a compelling story but dragged out by the level of detail the author brings in. At times in the book I feel like I […]

New postition at work has me so busy!
Eep! The work week has flown by! I am in a new position at work – new department too. Even changed floors and cubicles. After five years in one department, I am now in marketing as the Social Media Manager for a large restaurant company. I am over two major brands which have over 300 locations all combined. One brand is mostly in Texas and one is national, it even has some international locations.
As Social Media Manager I get to play on Facebook and Twitter but it’s so so much more than that. I am also responsible for email blasts, website updates, press releases… even the hold messages you hear when you call the restaurant. So much data coming in, I am overwhelmed right now trying to learn about both brands and all of our ongoing promotions and how to gather all the data and generate useful metrics out of all of this data! Add to that the fact that I am new to marketing and am needing to quickly learn all the “lingo” and acronyms like ROI, POP, AYCE, LTO…
I’m getting there though. And despite my moments of panic and doubt, I’m excited about the challenges!
