I’m so charmed…

Posted by cybertoad on 10/13/2006 in images, misc |

This post will bore the guys I am sure since I am posting about jewelry but… I recently wore my James Avery charm bracelet and every time I do I always think to myself how I should wear it more often. I started this bracelet back in high school (that makes it over 15 years old) and I have added and removed charms throughout the years. It is currently pretty full but I still keep finding more charms I want to add. I add charms that reflect who I am and my various interests. You can probably tell a lot about me by looking at what is on there.

Just because I am bored, I have listed the charms currently on the bracelet (FYI – I only add James Avery charms) in the extended entry…

And if you have your own charm bracelet (it doesn’t have to be James Avery), feel to tell me what you have hanging off it by leaving a comment or posting it on your own blog!

Antiques, angels and dinner with friends…

Posted by cybertoad on 10/03/2006 in misc |

Whee! Straight into the weekend re-cap… This will be short & sweet!

Friday night: Stayed home. Was lazy. Can’t remember the details.

Saturday: Met Hanna for lunch at Niko Niko’s, stopped at Arne’s and endured the heat while at the historic Glenwood Cemetery to get some angel shots… (see below)

Ready to Fly

Saturday night: Got home only to walk back out the door to Mike & Christine‘s house for a belated birthday dinner. Talked shop (i.e. about our burgeoning photo business), had some good food and good conversation. I also finally met the infamous Tara from Austin!

Sunday: Visited a local antique show and then hit the re-sale stores in The Montrose for some bargains (found a lovely lightweight seemingly never worn Ann Taylor coat in a beige & burgundy material for only $20).

Sunday night: Went home, rested our feet, did laundry and watched a movie and some TV.

See? Not that much to tell!

On our TiVo Season Pass…

Posted by cybertoad on 09/29/2006 in misc, personal |

I'm a Tivotee! Tuesdays are now our stay-at-home-and-watch-TV night! We have 3 hour-long shows back-to-back (that’s a lot of hyphens): Gilmore Girls, Eureka and Boston Legal. That got me to thinking about what we have our TiVo recording. These are the more important shows that I can remember off the top of my head… I think they’ll give you some good insight into our personalities! (For the record, the Fox show Rescue Me is one of all-time favorites but the season is over right now).

The TiVo list…

Boston Legal – we were sucked in to this day from Day One. Shatner and Bergen rock!

Studio 60 on Sunset Strip – So far we like it. Very ‘West Wing-y’ since it is from the same creator but that is OK. Amanda Peet as a studio president is still a bit bizarre but seems to be working. I am really loving Mathew Perry’s character though.

Scrubs – will it ever start up again?? We miss it!!

Battlestar Galactica – Ooh, we will be out of town when the season premiers but we will watch it as soon as we get back!

Eureka – A new SciFi series. Funny, cute and well done.

My Name is Earl – Always great for a laugh!

King of the Hill – Still a great show that is especially funny to us Texans!

Gilmore Girls – Yep, We (yes, Kenny inlcuded) have watched this show from day one and continue to watch it as it enters its 7th season. The writing is just that good! So will Luke and Lorelei ever get hitched? And will Rory & Logan stop whining about their one-year separation?

Ghost Hunters – OK, I’m ready for some new paranormal sightings guys!

Tivo in the bedroom (yes, we have a second TiVo):

The New Adventures of Old Christine – I need more short 30 minute sitcoms in my lineup and this was will do. Kenny is not as interested but I like it well enough.

Dog Whisperer – We love to watch Cesar work his magic and it’s a great show to watch on Sunday morning as we lay in bed with the dogs being lazy.

Family Guy – Kenny has discovered this show and we are furiously watching all the reruns we can. How could we have missed this the first time around?

Flicker’ites, storms, fleas, bread, eBay…

Posted by cybertoad on 09/25/2006 in images, re-caps |

A storm came through the area Saturday night and dumped 2.5 inches of rain in my backyard. It also brought the nice cooler weather back. Yay!

Here is the recap of my weekend…

Friday night: Kenny picked me up after pool and we headed north to EJ & Sherry’s. Caught up with friends, grilled some good steaks and I fell asleep while everyone else watched a couple of movies.

Saturday: Slept in, puttered around the house until Christine picked me up where we headed Downtown together to meet some local Flicker’ites. It was still warm so we didn’t walk around and take photos as much as we would have liked to. Grabbed some pizza at Frank’s and headed back to my house where we were able to get some stuff worked out regarding our photography print business. The storm I mentioned above came though while she was at my house so she waited till the worst of the rain had let up before she headed home.

Ginger enjoys getting dried... Heidi not happy to be wet!

Sunday: Another lazy day with beautiful blue skies. We only left the house to grab some lunch and some pet supplies. Afterward we weeded the front yard and gave the dogs a flea bath – we had found a couple on Heidi and they had both been itching so we figured it wouldn’t hurt to bathe them. Had baked potatoes for dinner, baked some more bread in the bread maker, watched a movie on TV and listed more stuff on eBay.

Not a very eventful weekend, was it? Oh well, they don’t all have to be jam-packed with stuff!
